Introduction of ACCA

ACCA stands for The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. It’s a global body of professional accountants which provides its certified members a global accreditation. ACCA is recognized globally with over 170 countries approving it. This is a gold standard in accountancy profession as it looks to create members with most up-to-date skills. ACCA course is based on IFRS – the most advanced, detailed and adopted accounting standards in the world with over 150 countries requiring its use. Thus, this is like a perfect plan to become a Global CA with opportunities from across the world waiting your application.

Scope of ACCA course

ACCA course is divided into below three stages each testing you in a specialized field:

All levels of ACCA exams are conducted on the Computer-Based Method (CBE). Question format options include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Scenario-based questions. These are designed in a way to test not just the theoretical knowledge but also its practical application.

Students can appear for any paper within each level as per their choice, thus it’s a course to be done at your pace.  To be a qualified ACCA with all rights, a student must pass in all these three levels and complete 20 hours of Ethics module and 3 years of practical experience. This work experience can be gained during any time of the course including Applied Knowledge Level.

Exams are conducted throughout the year on a rolling basis across four testing windows. This provides students with ample opportunities to prepare and appear for exams according to their schedules and time needs.

Eligibility Criteria

A student should have completed 18 years of age and qualified the 10+2 exams with an aggregate of 65% in Mathematics/Accounts and English and a minimum of 50%in other subjects.

Students pursuing graduation courses in field apart from Commerce can also join in and pursue their dream of being a Global CA – Global Citizen.
